NCCR Flexibility Grants (Application form and regulations)
For NCCR Catalysis PhD students and postdocs at Swiss institutions with family care duties, to provide child care support and/or hiring of a support person paid in instalments.
Option 1: Child care support, up to CHF 12k/year
For PhD students and postdocs at Swiss institutions with a work quota of at least 80%. Applicants need to be the main care-taker of children who have not yet finished primary school. The work quota of the partner (if applicable) may not be less than [applicant work quota - 20]%.
Option 2: Hiring of support person, up to CHF 30k/year
For postdocs at Swiss institutions with a minimum work quota of 60% with reduction in working hours, or 80% without simultaneous reduction in working hours. SNSF covers a cost of max. 20% of the postdoc’s full time gross salary and the salary saved due to the reduction of the postdoc’s work quota (40-0%).
Option 3: Child care support and hiring of support person, up to CHF 30k/year
For postdocs at Swiss institutions with a work quota of at least 80%.
Documents to provide: Filled in form, copy of child's birth certificate, proof of child care, indication of other child care support if applicable, proof of reduction in work quota if applicable, indication of partner's work quota.

NCCR Mobility Grants for NCCR Catalysis PhD students and postdocs, up to CHF 20k (application form and guidelines)
For PhD students and postdocs with at least 50% involvement in NCCR Catalysis, whose 6-12 months stay at an institution abroad is supported by their PI, and who are funded by NCCR Catalysis during this period. The research stay needs to add value to the research project and the researcher’s career. Eligible costs include travel costs to and from the host institution, subsistence costs abroad (e.g., accommodation), and expenses for relevant scientific meetings that may not be covered otherwise. The grant covers costs up to CHF 20k; it may be higher if the grantee is accompanied by their family (partner and children).
Documents to provide: Filled in form, research plan for stay abroad, detailed budget for additional costs, written confirmation from PI and host institution.
